ANDY WARHOL TRIBUTE
ILLUSTRATION FOR FASHION REVIEW MAGAZINEIllustrator
I was commissioned by Fashion Review to create an illustration of Andy Warhol and his Cartier Tank watch. Warhol famously declared, “I don’t wear a Tank watch to tell the time… I wear a Tank because it is the watch to wear.” For him, the Tank wasn’t about function but about style, image, and identity. With its sharp geometry, gold case, and black strap, the watch became a symbol of timeless elegance — one that Warhol turned into an icon by making it part of his persona. My illustration focuses on that relationship, pairing portrait and object to underline how fashion can transform into cultural memory.
