VERSACE “LA VACANZA”

POP-UP STORE IN CHENGDU, CHINA
Strategist and Assistant Creative Lead

For the 2023 Versace “La Vacanza” collection, created in collaboration with Dua Lipa, Versace enlisted Random Studio to propose creative avenues for a pop-up space for a post-summer show launch in Cannes. I held the role of strategist on the brand codes and history, assistant creative lead and visualiser, guiding the project from initial research through conceptualization to design. While our team was not involved in production nor execution, our vision for the space was inspired by Donatella’s summer-themed motifs from the runway.

The pop-up was designed to emulate a luxurious poolside setting, complete with a pergola roof offering shade and breathtaking views of the sea. Our original proposal included an LED screen simulating the passage of time, transitioning from sunrise to sunset, adjusting the lighting within the store, complemented by facade shadows hinting at nearby palm trees.

Inside, a section of the pool is recreated, featuring a golden edge and a trampoline. As an immersive touch,we proposed the development of sound design evoking pool splashes and a screen projection on the pool floor, showing an underwater swimmer in the latest Versace La Vacanza swimsuit

Overall, the space embodies the essence of the collection, inviting clients to envision themselves in a full Versace ensemble, basking in the anticipation of summer days ahead.
